Yeudy Saul Chavez Sandoval, of Kingstowne, lured the victim into an apartment on the 6000 block of Alexandria Avenue in Fort Hunt around 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28, then pushed her down the stairs, county police said.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was then raped by Sandoval, before escaping and calling 911, police said.

The quick police work of officers and detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau led to the arrest of a man wanted for a rape and malicious wounding that occurred on Friday in Kingstowne.

Sandoval has been charged with Rape, Forcible Sodomy, Object Sexual Penetration, and Malicious Wounding. He was arrested and was being held without bond.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
